November update

Haven't update the blog for a while, just wanna let my blog knows that I didn't forget about it :)

For the wedding prep, most of the things are pretty much done:
Date - set
Theme colour - decided
Church - booked
Venue - booked
Photographer - booked
DJ/MC - booked
Gowns - rented
Make up artist - booked
Hair stylist - booked
Bridesmaid dress - waiting to be tailor made
Tux - rental account set up

So far the only items left are:
Floral
Cake
Invitations
Favours
Shoes
Photo location for engagement pics and wedding pics
Loose items (esp for Chinese traditions)
These can be taken care of by next year or gradually.

Many ppl surprised that we are so ahead of things. I'm surprised too, I didn't know we are ahead until everyone told us so (even our parents) especially knowing another bride who is 1 week earlier than our wedding date got nothing done.

I'm so proud of us, especially my hunni. He helps a lot a lot, which makes the whole preparation process smoother :) And our parents too, they gave us infos and helped us. They are the best :)

Wedding prep....

Received a msg from my friend who's recently married, telling me to enjoy and have fun preparing the wedding. Visiting all these wedding forums, all the girls seems pretty excited and busy and fun preparing for their wedding.

I didn't quite do anything except choosing my gowns, my bridesmaids and their dresses...the rest are taken care of by my fiancé.

Well, usually the wedding preparation is organized by the bride and her girls. But the I was told I should learn to trust, so I did, I let my fiancé take care of it.

I know he's being nice, just want me to focus on my study and leave the "fun" things for me to do (e.g. picking dress, colours...)Just doesn't realize, "trust" too much, becomes "rely".

I see him becomes stressed and tensed and less smiley on his face. Sometimes I really just want to help, in order to lower his stress. I hope its just tiredness that was on his face.

I guess I'm just a lazy bride-to-be!

Life will be happier, when you take a step back.

Not going to get or experience what I always wanted since a child. I can only envy others. Everyone knows it is an essential at that stage, but when getting it develops arguments and hurts relationships, why don't I just step back and put the damages to the minimum?

Try think the other way around to sooth the mind and heart. I'm sure there are ppl who can't get or afford what they dream about too. I'm just one of them.

Excitement stopped since the conflicts started. Yes, it just spoiled the mood. Maybe something better is coming along. You never know. I only want a happy & loving rest of my life. Not looking for troubles.

This is life. An uneven path, a map with no GPS, you have to create your own track to finish up your map. If you lost in the dark, try climb to the highest & look at the big picture or step back and get out of the darkness. Trust your guts, light will always be there for you.

Sorry to my parents, all relatives and friends who look forward to attend and share the happiness, most likely your trip will be saved.

Torn & confused

Why are things get complicated as its can be just as simple?

Another sleepless night, I'm tired. I haven't sleep well for over a week. Someday I might just collapse from tiredness, or have emotional breakdown.

Feel sorry to my family for disappointments they experienced, and worries I gave (for now & future). This is not easy for me too. I truely thank for all the support my family gave, their understanding, and nonetheless, to put a smile on my face.

Sleepless

Sleepless because I cannot wait anymore to tell the good news to the special someone anymore. I know he always wanted, and I already made it work, just wanted to surprise him.

After tonight's conversation, I guess he needs to know before the day I planned. I dropped a big hint already, guess he didn't get it? I worried about the way he is now.

If he's reading this, I just wanted to let him know that everything is truly ready, and I miss you everyday.

Wasaga Beach

We went to the Wasaga Beach during the Civic day long weekend. This trip will be the my first time going to Wasaga.

It was supposed to be nice and sunny that weekend. But ended up, it was cloudy, on & off showers, and a bit on the breezy side. Still, it was a great time to spend a weekend with someone special :)
As we arrived, we went to the beach. I took my top on and tried to enjoy the sun, read some magazine and listen to some music with my swimming suit on....omg the longer I exposed myself to the "sun", the colder I get! And it also started to shower! So we started packing up, and head for lunch.
And the whole weekend is just a repeat of shower and clouds :/

The most fun was from the last day, we went go-kart and mini golf :D it was fun!

Summerilcious Part 2

Here comes my 2nd Summerlicious dinner of 2010.

This time I went to Starfish Oyster Bar & Grill. Located at Adelaide & Church. This is a typical neighbourhood oyster bar, warm, cozy and friendly. Of course, good food too!

D & I ordered fresh oysters as a starter. We are offered to try 4 different kinds of oysters (2 from east coast, 2 from west coast) Although the oysters are not big or "fat", they tasted very fresh and mild. It came with fresh grated horseradish. Very refreshing. We enjoyed it.

For entree, we both ordered grill rainbow trout. To our surprise, it was really good! The fish was fresh, that they grilled the skin crunchy, while maintain the moist within. Omg we both really enjoyed it, and we wanted to have another piece too!

As for the dessert, D ordered strawberry shortcake, while I ordered brownie with nutella ice cream. Nothing too exciting about the dessert. And we did not enjoy it as much as we did for the other 2 dishes.

Overall it's a great experience. We might return some other time and check out their regular menu.

Worst Walmart shopping experience

Omg I just experienced the worst customer service at Walmart!!!!!!

The whole story is, the lady who done paying wants another plastic bag, so she asked the cash to get one, but I was the one who's paying my goodies. So the cash quickly charged onto MY bill and swiped my credit card, as I already gave her my card to pay before the lady asking for another bag.

So I'm like... why do you charge me, I already told you I don't need a bag, its the lady who wants a bag. And she's like... o sorry you have to go to customer service to refund your plastic bag. You know Walmart customer service counter always has a line up for no reason. Then the cash said, you can go talk to the lady (the customer) if you like.

What an attitude! So I go to the head of cash, and comment about this. The head of cash said to me, everybody made mistakes, did u EVER not make one? Are you telling me you are a perfect human being?

WTF! So either I have to pay for someone's bag, or spend 30mins to line up for bag charges refund? Its like forced me with no choice?

I'm not going to that Walmart ever again!
I hope Marshalls and Targets are coming soon. Cause right now there is no choice in Canadian market.

Summerlicious Part 1

Summerlicious is here! Time to enjoy some good food in more affortable price :)
First Summerlicious dinner I went is at Toula at the 38th floor of Westin Harbour Castle Hotel at Harbour Front.
We both ordered lobster tail as appetitzer. As for the entree, we ordered rack of lamb and sirloin. They are both delicious!
The lamb I ordered is medium, it is perfectly done, just as what I wanted. With the pistachio crust, it is perfect with the tender juicy lamb. Yum yum!
As for the sirlion, it is also welly made. Juicy, tender and not dried. Excellent!
Food is perfect. Just that the restaurant is pretty outdated, I feel like I was seated in a 70s or early 80s setting. Old golden ceiling O.O. Btw I always thought the restaurant will rotate, but it doesn't when I was there. Maybe the rotation is just a rumor?

Watching G20 protest coverage.....

CP24 is amazing. Great coverage and it happens right outside their building!! Definitely an exculsive shots and coverage. Isn't that something?
I cannot believe these protest happens so close to where I work. Less than half a block! OMG I cannot imagine if this happens yesterday. I prolly will freak out, nervous, heart attack and start crying.

Pretty or Smart?

Had an interesting discussion at the dinner table last nite.
There is a conclusion, that only one characteristic exist among "smart" and "pretty".
For example: if you are pretty, then you might not be smart (or in a small possibility that you are!) Likewise, if you are smart, most likely you are not pretty (of course, spending all those time studying, you become a nerd!)
Then I was asked if I think I'm pretty or smart. Haha. AVERAGE is my answer. I don't think I'm pretty, or I'm smart. I hardly heard I am called "pretty", "beautiful", "hot" or anything like that (except when those SA trying to make a sale!) Brainwise, I'm always at the class average, only sometimes I will go above.
I'm glad I'm average, then I will not be called smart ass, or dumb ass!

E.L.F. Haul

After hearing all the bad review on E.L.F.'s shipping to Canada. I began to worry after placing my 1st order. Forunately (and surprisingly) it arrived only in a week's time!

As everyone knows, E.L.F. brushes are well know for their good quality and cheap price, so this order is all about it :)

I ordered 2 eyeshadow brushes, 2 blending brushes, 2 custom eyeshadow compacts, a Studio face brush and a HD face powder.

The brushes are nice and soft. I haven't start using them yet, but I can't wait.

The custom eyeshadow compact is definitely a good investment. This little baby has a huge mirror, and it fits MAC Pro singles, depotted NYX trio, Annabelle mono singles and of course, E.L.F.'s custom singles. And its only a dollar! I have an empty Annabelle custom palette, it cost a dollar as well, ONLY after its on sale at $3 and presenting the $2 coupon, besides, it doesn't have a mirror and its pretty bulky.

The HD face powder is part of the Studio line product. OMG how I love it. It keeps my face matte and set my makeup throughout the day. And best of all, it's only $6! I definitely will repurchase this!

Overall, this E.L.F. hual is a good experience. If I ever find a good Studio line coupon code, that means another haul will be coming! ;)

One of those days...

Recently been feeling big, fat, ugly, frustrated, tired, u name it, I have all the negative feeling inside me. I blame the hormones.

Still in search for "colors". Nothing colorful yet. Need it badly. Sometimes I can't even find myself in my clothes. Too dark...like an old tv, only black and grey...sorry no white. O man that means I'm worse than a TV?

I received my Avon order today also. Just wanted to try some new products:

MagiX Cashmere Finish Liquid Foundation in Natural Beige (left)

Ultra Color Rich Mega Impact SPF 15 lipstick in Pink Pop (right)

Since I love the MagiX face primer, I gotta try the new cashmere foundation. Lucky me, I have an good color match. Like the primer, or the Face Perfector they called it, it has a silky matte texture for my combo skin. I personally like it, as it feel light with medium coverage on my face and able to stay on.

The lipstick, OMG it is very creamy and soft. The cons? I find it a bit too shimmery, and the tube is quite bulky while the content is pretty skinny. Not a bad formula, very creamy and moist. Best of all, no funny smell!

Btw, I heard that the Urban Decay Get Baked palette will be discontinued soon. Lucky, I got mine :) I love all the Bakes!

Mini haul

Overall I need some color.... fashion-wise and life-wise.

I have problem picking out clothes from my filled closet lately (isn't this every girl's problem!), and nothing catch my eyes in the store. Nothing looks good on me either. Sad isn't it? :(

So I stopped by the mall today, and ended up purchased something else....

Midterm done & NOTD

Done with my midterm exam yesterday, hopefully I can get a good mark. (pray) All I need is a minimum B for final marks. I need some blessings.....

To cheer myself up and to celebrate the weekend, I did my nails with one of the Orly I picked up last time from Sally Beauty Supply. It is Orly Petit Four.... a pastel pinkish purple.

Looks pretty, feels girly now :)
